26th Annual Turkey Trot Raises Over $43,000 for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Patients

The Weld Legacy Foundation along with the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado at North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC) hosted the 26th Annual Turkey Trot, presented by Chevron on November 23, 2023.

On a brisk yet dry Thanksgiving morning, over 2,700 runners and walkers participated in the 2K/5K Fun Run/Walk, one of the largest Turkey Trot races on Thanksgiving Day in Northern Colorado! Net proceeds of over $43,600 will be utilized to assist Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab patients in our community.

The Weld Legacy Foundation extends a big thank you to our outstanding sponsors, volunteers, and committee members who helped make the event so successful! Participation is back up to pre-Covid numbers and we are thrilled about that. It is always wonderful to see our community coming out with smiles on their faces, enjoying a run or walk with us, and supporting a great cause before Thanksgiving dinner with their loved ones.

A special thank you to Kamryn Pace for her beautiful performance of the national anthem.

The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at NCMC helps patients with heart and pulmonary conditions live healthier lives.  A team of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation specialists tailor individual exercise, diet, and treatment programs to meet each patient’s needs. Studies have demonstrated that patients who participate in cardiac rehabilitation programs have a significant reduction in their mortality rates, earlier return to work, significantly improved quality of life, and learn valuable skills that can prevent complications and hospitalizations. The Cardiac Rehabilitation program has been recognized by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation as a certified program.
