As part of its ongoing commitment to health education, Weld Legacy Foundation awards approximately $90,000 annually in scholarships to individuals in the community and employees of North Colorado Medical Center.
“To date, Weld Legacy Foundation has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarships to over 375 students and professionals in the healthcare field. Some of these individuals have remained in Greeley and work as part of the staff at NCMC; other recipients have chosen different paths. Every Weld Legacy Foundation scholarship recipient has a unique story to tell, and all have worked very hard to achieve educational and career success.
Weld Legacy Foundation scholarship applications are processed through the Bright Futures application system. The scholarship deadline for the 2024-2025 school year has passed.
The Henneck Family Scholarship was established by Paul and Mary Henneck for ancillary department staff to provide a one-time scholarship for those seeking continuing education or certification within their field. Ancillary staff include laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy technicians, physical and occupational therapists, care coordinators and social workers, dietary/food nutrition services, environmental services, medical records/HIMS, billing, coding, security, business associates. Applicant must be an employee of NCMC for at least 90 days.
David E. Bates, MD Memorial Award was established through memorial contributions from numerous donors in his memory. This award is given annually to one individual completing his or her residency at North Colorado Family Medicine (NCFM) who reflects a deep commitment to family medicine. Recipients are chosen through an internal process by NCFM representatives.
Dr. Sam Widney Memorial Award was established through gifts from the Widney Family. This award is given annually to one or more individuals completing his or her residency at North Colorado Family Medicine (NCFM). Recipients are chosen through an internal process by NCFM representatives.
The Florence Winograd Educational Scholarship was established by Florence in honor of the care her late husband received at North Colorado Medical Center (NCMC). The award serves to recognize and reward a group of individuals at NCMC who exemplify teamwork. The winning team shares a grant to be used for continuing education.
